Therapy
The SPOT Team (Speech Pathology and Occupational Therapy) are available to all classes across the school. They provide support to staff and students targeting a broad range of skills. The aim of SPOT involvement is to support classroom staff to continue interventions in class on a daily basis.
The Speech Pathologists support with:
Alternative communication systems
Functional communication skills
Engagement, play and interaction
Receptive Language (understanding of Language)
Expressive Language
Literacy skills
The Occupational Therapists support with:
Handwriting and Cutting
Self-care and Life skills
Gross motor skills
Play and Social skills
Self-regulation and readiness to learn
Bus travel safety
Transitions
Posture and Seating
The SPOT Assistants support with the provision of resources and continuation of intervention in the classroom.
